CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT MANAGER

The HGI Manufacturing team is partnering with an eco-friendly company in the Chicago area to help them add a dedicated and experienced Continuous Improvement Manager. This organization is a leading manufacturer of sustainable packaging solutions with a strong commitment to continuous improvement and innovation.

This position will play a crucial role in optimizing plant systems, enhancing production line efficiency, and ensuring product quality. This position also offers an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional to lead improvement initiatives across the client’s network of plants.

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize observation, data analysis, and questioning to identify and categorize production issues related to yield and uptime, implementing Lean methodologies to eliminate sources of variation and achieve Standard Operating Conditions (SOC).
  • Lead problem-solving efforts to eliminate root causes of issues, reduce variance permanently, and analyze production lines to identify constraints and optimize flow for continuous improvement.
  • Advocate for customer needs through process capability improvements and defect elimination, evaluating standard work procedures and training to address production flow issues.
  • Coordinate third-party assessments for equipment or system evaluations as needed, conducting yield studies, and analyzing data to prepare detailed root cause analyses.
  • Develop implementation plans, coordinate resources, and facilitate problem-solving sessions using methodologies, while leading Daily Management processes to validate performance improvements.
  • Support deployment of Lean tools to enhance safety, quality, and throughput, proactively identifying and resolving issues, and ensuring the establishment of standardized work procedures to prevent problem recurrence.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in multi-line manufacturing plant operations.
  • Background in the plastics industry preferred.
