The HGI Manufacturing team is partnering with a leading provider of cutting-edge technology solutions in Northern Illinois to bring on a Field Service Engineer.
As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of cutting-edge Bystronic Laser Cutting and Automation systems, as well as Press Brake Machines. This role entails travel within the United States, with occasional international assignments, and requires a dedicated individual with a strong technical background and exceptional customer service skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct installations, repairs, commissioning, and troubleshooting of machine tools.
- Generate and input detailed service reports.
- Identify and diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, and perform necessary repairs and replacements.
- Provide basic operational guidance, maintenance instructions, and safety protocols to customers at their locations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s or technical degree in engineering or related field preferred.
- Hands-on experience in field service, machine tool installation, repair, and preventive maintenance.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Proficiency in electrical and mechanical troubleshooting (preferred).
- Proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Office (preferred).
- Positive and professional demeanor with a background in customer service (preferred).
