PROJECT ENGINEER

Our client, a prominent player in the construction industry, is currently seeking a dedicated Project Engineer for their operations in Phoenix, AZ. The Project Engineer will play a pivotal role in coordinating technical activities for assigned projects. Reporting to the Project Manager & Project Superintendent, the Project Engineer collaborates closely with various stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution. They oversee quality assurance, maintain adherence to engineering standards, and foster effective communication among project disciplines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Management of Submittal & Shop Drawing process, including the creation of submittal logs
  • Handling the change order management process, from vendor/subcontractor pricing to project manager review
  • Timely procurement of materials and approvals
  • Enforcement of company safety policies and standards
  • Document control and maintenance of record drawings, including distribution of updates
  • Management of the RFI process and linkage to as-built documents
  • Collaboration on CPM and 3 Week Look-Ahead creation and distribution
  • Quality Assurance/Quality Control to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and approved submittals
  • Participation in Owner and Subcontractor meetings, with responsibilities for writing and distributing meeting minutes
  • Assistance with As-Builts and Close Out process
  • Support in preparing, leading, and documenting subcontractor, owner, and preconstruction meetings
  • Regular liaison with assigned subcontractors and internal crews
  • Participation in subcontractor or foreman meetings to enforce jobsite safety and scheduling

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management
  • 7-10+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Proficiency in business development, operations, project management, and commercial construction
  • Strong knowledge of safety standards and construction regulations
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and drive projects to completion
