Our client, a renowned general contractor based in Boston, is actively seeking a dynamic Project Engineer to join their team. With a focus on commercial projects spanning various sectors including healthcare, education, technology, life sciences, and more, this role offers an exciting opportunity for growth and development within the construction industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and adhere to stringent Environmental Health and Safety guidelines to ensure safe project environments through regular safety audits.
  • Interpret and enforce contractual agreements between the company, subcontractors, and project owners.
  • Collaborate closely with the project management team to execute project plans effectively.
  • Provide leadership and direction to assigned project staff, ensuring clarity in roles, prioritization, and performance feedback.
  • Participate in training sessions and company meetings to foster individual and organizational growth.
  • Maintain organized project files for easy access and reference by the project team.
  • Develop, monitor, and update project schedules, working to mitigate constraints and ensure timely completion.
  • Manage various document control processes including reports, logs, and change orders.
  • Facilitate communication by distributing project-related information to all relevant stakeholders.
  • Prepare and manage project billing in accordance with client requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to adapt to evolving project needs.
  • In-depth understanding of project scopes with a hands-on approach.
  • Proactive problem-solving ability during design and construction phases.
  • Goal-oriented mindset with effective coordination skills within project teams.
  • Excellent communication and listening skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software such as CMiC or Prolog, scheduling software like Primavera, and BIM software including AutoCAD, Revit, or Navisworks.
  • 2+ years of experience as a project engineer, preferably in commercial construction.
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, or related field.
  • A strong work ethic, positive attitude, and passion for the construction industry.
