Our client, a prominent general contractor based in Aurora, is seeking a dedicated Superintendent to join their dynamic team. Renowned for their commitment to safety and quality, our client offers an opportunity to be part of challenging and rewarding construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Embrace and uphold a culture of safety, ensuring adherence to all safety protocols and driving the Incident and Injury Free (IIF) culture.
  • Oversee all on-site construction activities, meticulously managing project progress.
  • Maintain comprehensive understanding of project plans, specifications, and details, keeping updated construction drawings as a permanent record.
  • Efficiently schedule and procure tools, equipment, and materials while ensuring proper training for team members.
  • Foster positive relationships with trade contractors, ensuring schedule adherence and high-quality work.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and production units, ensuring site productivity and timely reporting.
  • Implement and monitor quality control measures, troubleshooting challenges and documenting solutions.
  • Coordinate inspections with relevant authorities and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Develop and enforce site-specific safety plans, striving for IIF on all projects.
  • Cultivate positive relationships with owners and design teams, effectively communicating project goals.
  • Collaborate with various departments during pre-construction phases, providing technical expertise and assisting with project planning.
  • Participate in marketing efforts and proposal preparations, contributing to client loyalty and business growth.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, or related field with 6+ years of experience, or equivalent experience with a high school diploma and 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in construction management software such as Procore, P6, MS Project, Excel, AutoCad, and project management software.
  • Strong understanding of building plans and specifications, value engineering, and life cycle costing.
  • Demonstrated track record in driving safety initiatives and compliance.
  • Current or ability to obtain OSHA 30 certification and meet company safety requirements.
